Makapu’u Point Lighthouse Trail Hike & Halona Blowhole
Duration
4 hours
About
From the end of the trail at Makapu'u Head, one is rewarded with magnificent views of the windward coast and offshore islets, as well as the historic red-roofed Makapu'u Lighthouse built in 1909 - which makes a stunning picture against the deep blue sea below.
The spectacular Makapu’u Lighthouse is more than 100 years old, and houses a historic "hyper-radiant" (super-sized) lens. On a clear day, you may even see Moloka'i and Lana'i. The offshore islets are wildlife sanctuaries for Hawaiian seabirds like the 'iwa, frigate bird, and tropicbird. This trail is an excellent place to view migrating humpback whales in season (November-May). Binoculars are suggested for viewing the whales and seabirds. An interpretive sign and viewing scope along the trail help you view and identify the whales seen from this location.
HALONA BLOWHOLE
On our way to Makapu`u Lighthouse we will stop at one of Hawai’i’s most popular attractions: the Halona Blowhole. Here we will make a 15 minute stop so that you will be able to take pictures of this spectacular natural phenomenon. When wind and tide conditions are just perfect, the Halona Blowhole is known to spray water up to 20 feet in the air! Both the blowhole and summit are incredible vantage points to spot Hawaii's annual winter visitors, the Humpback whales.
Restrictions
- Not recommended for pregnant women
- Participants must be physically fit
While on this side of the island, you should also try to visit Hanauma Bay, Makapu'u Point Lighthouse, Koko Head Botanical Garden, and Sandy Beach. Kaimana Tours offers Combos & Special Packages that allows you to experience more in one day!

Rainforest, Waterfall and Movie Sites Hike
Duration
3.5 hours
About
The beginning of the trail crosses over a footbridge and then crosses a small stream through a grove of Eucalyptus trees. The 0.8 mile trail gradually ascends through a lush rainforest ending at a viewing area set back from the base of the falls. There is a low rock wall and suspended cable with signs indicating the danger of landslide and instructing hikers to not go beyond that point. Approximately 50 feet from the viewing area there is a marked trail to the left. This is Aihualama Trail, which switchbacks up the ridge, through bamboo, offering views of Honolulu and Valley. Aihualama Trail is not suitable for novice hikers. There was a landslide next to the waterfall in January of 2002. A viewing area with a bench has been established that restricts access to the pool and waterfall, and from the side of the stream where the landslide occurred. Signs are posted informing users of the trail terminus and of the potential danger of the area beyond. The trail ends at the viewing area. DO NOT GO BEYOND POSTED SIGNS AND CABLE AT THE END OF THE TRAIL- violators may be prosecuted.

We begin at historic Pearl Harbor where you will experience firsthand the earth-shattering events that catapulted the U.S. into World War II. Join us at the USS Arizona Memorial, a deeply moving and emotional experience where you will learn about the 1,177 seamen who perished when their battleship was sunk during the December 7, 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. You’ll witness the attack in a 23-minute documentary and then cross the harbor to the Memorial in a Navy vessel. At the Memorial, pay your respects to the heroes whose names are etched in marble in the Shrine Room. Look into the water and note the oil droplets - "The Black Tears of the Arizona" - that continue to escape the sunken battleship and rise to the harbor surface. Back at Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, there will be time to visit the WWII museum exhibits and the bookshop.
Next, we stop at Dole Plantation dedicated to Hawaii’s pineapple growing history. Shop for souvenirs at the Plantation Store and even taste a delicious frozen Dole Whip treat. As we head to Polynesian Cultural Center on the North Shore, we’ll pass by famous surfing beaches like Waimea Bay and Sunset Beach, where the world’s best surfers test their skills at championship tournaments in November and December.
Arriving at Polynesian Cultural Center, you’ll enter a world that celebrates the music, dance, and way of life on six Pacific Island nations: Hawaii, Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, and New Zealand. Explore a diverse spectrum of Polynesian traditions as you visit authentic villages for each nation. Meet Pacific islanders from across globe, listen to their stories and songs, and watch their joyful dances. Take a canoe ride from village to village and learn Tahitian spear throwing and Samoan cooking. Sit back and enjoy the colorful Polynesian Canoe Pageant.

Diamond Head Crater Shuttle & Self-Guided Hike
Certainly worth it for the breathtaking, unparalleled view of the coastline. A must-see for any visitor!
Duration
Approx. 2 hours
About
In the early 1800s, British sailors mistakenly thought the calcite crystals in the lava rocks they saw glimmering from a distance were diamonds, hence the name. Diamond Head is a volcano that has been extinct for 150,000 years. The crater is 3,520 feet in diameter with a 760 foot summit.
The hike led by Kaimana Tours is considered easy to moderate in exertion.
This moderate hike ascends to the top of Diamond Head via a series of switchbacks. Although Kaimana Tours rates it as an easy to moderate hike, the staircases at the end are challenging for visitors not in peak shape and might leave you breathless even before you get a look at the gorgeous views from the top. But the rave reviews are nearly universal--this hike is well worth the effort!
Even if rising at dawn is the last thing you want to do on vacation, definitely consider the earliest departure times for the Diamond Head Crater Hike. It doesn't take long before the day heats up and makes the hike even more strenuous. And because it's such a popular destination, it can get crowded at the narrower stretches of the path as more visitors arrive throughout the day.
Departure Times:
Depart Waikiki at 6:20am & Diamond Head at 8:40am

Hawaiian Beauty Package
Diamond Head + Manoa Falls
About
MANOA FALLS
The beginning of the trail crosses over a footbridge and then crosses a small stream through a grove of Eucalyptus trees. The 0.8 mile trail gradually ascends through a lush rainforest ending at a viewing area set back from the base of the falls. There is a low rock wall and suspended cable with signs indicating the danger of landslide and instructing hikers to not go beyond that point. Approximately 50 feet from the viewing area there is a marked trail to the left. This is Aihualama Trail, which switchbacks up the ridge, through bamboo, offering views of Honolulu and Manoa Valley. Aihualama Trail is not suitable for novice hikers. There was a landslide next to the waterfall in January of 2002. A viewing area with a bench has been established that restricts access to the pool and waterfall, and from the side of the stream where the landslide occured. Signs are posted informing users of the trail terminus and of the potential danger of the area beyond. The trail ends at the viewing area. DO NOT GO BEYOND POSTED SIGNS AND CABLE AT THE END OF THE TRAIL- violators may be prosecuted.
- Trail Length: 0.8 mi.
- Activity: Pedestrian
- Difficulty: Moderate
- Terrain: Rainforest. Lush Valley
- Elevation Gain: 800 ft

Discover Scuba Diving
Go Beyond Snorkeling - No Experience Necessary!
Two shallow Hawaii reef dives from our scuba friendly boat.
Times & Duration
Daily at 8:30am
4-5 Hours
About
Our Discover Hawaii scuba diving experience is a half-day charter with two shallow ( max 35 feet) introductory boat dives at two different reef sites. No classroom tests or studying required. We will show you all you need to know on the boat before you enter the water. In addition, all the rental gear you need is included in the price!
Discover Scuba Diving in Oahu is designed to allow anyone to experience scuba diving for the very first time. In the warm, clear ocean off Waikiki Honolulu, under the direct supervision of the Oahu Scuba Diving, a PADI certified Instructor, you'll get to experience the thrill of easily breathing underwater!
How It Works
First, reserve your spot today as space is limited on our boats! Second, prepare for fun! Bring a towel, sunscreen, swimsuit and snacks/water. Everything else you will need is already on the boat. The boat leaves the dock promptly at 9am. On the 20 min ride out to the dive sites, you will be briefed on what to expect and the few simple skills you'll need to know to dive safely, such as mask clearing, how to equalize your ears to the water pressure, regulator usage, clearing and recovery, proper fin kicking and basic hand signals.
At the dive site, the boat is moored in place. A wide stable platform is then dropped to provide an easy way on and off the boat. Guidelines descend for twenty feet below the platform, providing divers something to hang on to while the instructor takes each person through the basic skills before they descend all the way to the reef below.
With only four divers per instructor ratio, you're assured of safety and personalized attention. Oahu Scuba Diving has been teaching and leading Oahu scuba divers for 17 years! Greg still loves watching the faces of young and old light up at their first experience of the amazing world beneath the waves.
Our Discover Oahu scuba diving experience encourages scuba diving exploration for first timers and beginners new to the ocean to satisfy their curiosity about Waikiki scuba diving in a way that is supremely safe and enjoyable.
What to Bring:
Please bring swimming attire and remember to wear sunscreen and bring a hat and/or sunglasses! Life is bright, you gotta have shades!
Restrictions
• All participants must sign a waiver (sent with your confirmation email)

About
If you're a certified scuba diver and you want to experience the best scuba diving on Oahu, we've got everything you need! For certified Advanced Divers, the morning boat charters leave the Hawaii Kai Marina dock at 8:30am, returning approximately at noon. The first dive is the deepest, usually between 80 - 115 feet depending on the dive site. The second dive is shallower and generally a reef or wall dive, as well as being a drift dive.

Here at Aloha Scuba Diving, we pride ourselves on our safety record, our personalized service and our superior value.
